  1. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on 1 November 2023 announced that more than 97 per cent of the Rs. 2,000 banknotes in circulation as on 19 May 2023, have been returned by 31 October, 2023. 
  2. On World Cities Day, Kozhikode in Kerala and Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh has been designated as the ‘City of Literature’ and the ‘City of Music’ respectively by UNESCO.
  3. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the ‘Location Accessible Multi-modal Initiative (LAccMI)’ scheme for public transportation which aims to promote affordable and sustainable transportation.
